I'm off to the alps in a few weeks with my girlfriend.

Trying to decide on a rough plan would like to do something snowy, some via ferrata some mountain biking and lots of chilling drinking wine.

Plan was Dolomites-Gran Paradiso-Morzine

Or maybe just stick in briancon?

Definitely get out of Briancon to the Dollies, they're completely different.

Plan it based on altitude, low level first then build up. Over a month you could get very acclimatised and do some routes higher up as though they were at sea level.

Edit. I agree with the above, the ecrins are great, but with a whole month use that time to travel more.

Feel like we need to travel but only problem being we need to compromise. she has never been to the alps apart from skiing and wants to climb,I've done a fair bit in the alps both summer and winter but have lost my climbing mojo since being in the Dolomites last summer. I want to bike lots!

Idea today was to head out to zermatt to do some mountains before getting back to morzine and over to ecrin.

Anyone know how strict they are about wild camping in Switzerland? Will be in a van
