The above thread has now been archived but just wanted to thank everyone for their help and advice.
Now back safe and sound in the country and despite some less than ideal weather managed a couple of routes. The ESE ridge of the Gross Furkahorn was great, good rock and a straightforward descent. Y route on the Miroir D'Argentine also great despite the threat of rain later on.
