Anyone climbed here? Got any info/advice?

Heading on the trans Siberian train to China in the autumn and just discovered this place on the internet. Seems pretty crazy...

Never been, probably never will but looks amazing.

There was an article in Alpinist about it some years ago. If you can't get it online email me and I'll scan it if I can find it.

Cheers, Ross

I will ask my PhD student, who has climbed there AFAIK. Unfortunately he has just finished and is back in Russia. so this may take a while.

I recall articles about this area 10 or so years ago. Climbing on volcanic pinnacles. Climbing there largely developed in a 'vaccum', so most climbs are done as mass unroped ascents--not surprisingly with a high fatality rate. Even more extreme than Dresden/ Czech sandstone. Looks spectacular but....!!!!
