Hi all. I'm off on a family holiday to the Rothbury area and hoping to get in easy some evening bouldering. But I'll be on my own so looking for some easy low problems (traverses?) Any suggestions?

Hey,
How mobile are you - car? There's some good low problems up at Garleigh but it's not exactly the county's premier venue.

It's a bit of a cliche but if I were coming from outside and on my own I'd be straight to Bowden or kyloe in. There's stacks of traverses at both and they're two of the best crags in the country. There's also likely to be other people there and everyone is usually happy to pool mats/spots if you want to try a straight up.

Corby's is worth a visit for an evening session, some really good easy traverses on all the tiers.

Start at Bowden Doors "Sheep Pen" sector. Once you've exhausted there you'll be warmed up and have a huge long cliff to traverse...
