A rather nice tribute to a man who influenced many of us even if it was just going for a walk or scramble after checking one of his guides. My first Cicerone guide was Scottish Ice Climbs by Ian Clough circa 1968!

Thank you for putting this on here. These are amazing tributes! I particularly like the conclusion:

‘Uncle Walt’ – the man who changed lives for the better, and gave to thousands he never met, ‘a good day out on the hill..’
