In Spring 2011, long before the Dawn Wall, Tommy Caldwell, Hayden Kennedy and Corey Rich travelled to Alaska with the aim of establishing a new winter route in the Arrigetch Peaks. Their efforts created Deep in the Alaskan Bush (5.11+ X, M2) and a film by Corey Rich Productions documented the journey and first ascent.
Great vid and I'd be interested to know what proportion of these trips end up without topping anything as they were discussing. All we often get to see are these sunny, winter trips with amazing lines.
