I think that 5mm and 6mm accessory cord is made from the same material and constructed in same way as climbing rope and therefore similar dynamic properties- anyone know any different?

Dynamic rope is treated somehow ( commercial secrets ) to improve its climbing fall characteristics. Also a different type of nylon and fibre weave, I think.

Accessory cord is not leading rope. It does stretch quite a lot before snapping but not enough for lead falls.
