Does anybody know if you need a French Clean Air vignette for your car if driving from Calais to Font? Google maps is taking us around paris, but not sure where the restrictions apply?

Don't go anywhere near Paris. Google defaults to taking you around Paris but there are plenty of alternative routes with a near identical ETA in perfect traffic and which are far less likely to leave you with the long delays you are likely to hit going around Paris.

We usually turn off around Senlis and skirt around East of Paris, between Paris and Meaux but which route is best depends on exactly where you are staying. Have a play amending the route on google maps.

Same as above, made the mistake once and won't do it again. Went at 2am this year and still absolute chaos even at that sort of time

Avoid the Paris peripherique
also the A86 is often bad

Best bet is the A/N104 - can sometimes feel like you're going the wrong way and is a bit further, but is faster
