BMC Lakes Area Meeting: 6 September, Keswick

Come along to our next gathering of Lakes climbers and walkers and get involved in the work of the BMC.

Date: Wednesday 6 September 2017, starting at 7.30pm
Venue: Kong Adventure, Heads Road, Keswick, Cumbria CA12 5EZ

Area meetings are run by volunteers and are your chance to join in with debate and influence decisions about what happens in your area as well as the rest of the country. The meeting will include a discussion on the proposal by Treetop Trek to install a zip wire across Thirlmere Reservoir.

Kong Adventure is hosting the meeting, so why not get there early and fit in a climbing session too?

All are welcome; food will be provided by the BMC (available from 7.00pm).

Unfortunately I won't be able to make this but hopefully some debate on the recent bolting of the boulders at Swarthbeck is discussed, and the bolting of Lakeland ghylls in general.
Maybe a policy of best practice can be discussed. Rather like the Winter Climbing one brought out a few years back.
Hopefully a representative from Cave and Canyon be there?
