This made me rethink my attitudes and attachment to a variety of Yosemite place names. I've never been in the now renamed Ahwahnee, but Tenaya lake is iconic.

It really is, on all sorts of levels. I'm always torn with how much of our western modern world prosperity and comfort is built on suffering of one sort or another. Sometimes "our" suffering, but more often "their" suffering.

Given that we can't remake history, all we can do is be aware of these things and not contribute to them. And perhaps try to fix things where possible.
