Wow, big old thing.

Bjorn - can you follow up and ask if this was done soup-up (without top rope practice)?

Thanks
In reply to Wood for Trees:

I'm pretty sure he practiced this one on a rope, same as on Alasha, but I'll see what I can do.

That's a competition. Is a psicobloc just another name for a deep water solo?

In reply to Robert Durran:

I don't know, I don't DWS. I Googled psicobloc and the competition website was the 2nd link.

"Chris also says falling with your legs together is a good idea."

In reply to Robert Durran:

Climbing ropeless above water with the understanding falls were all part of the fun probably originated in parallel in Dorset and Mallorca. The Dorset lads and lasses christened it Deep Water Soloing. In Mallorca it was called Psicobloc, a portmanteau containing psycho and boulder problem. Appropiate to use the term in a news item about DWS in Mallorca I'd have thought.

That's why it seemed odd to me; it's hard to see what deep water soloing has to do with bouldering (unless a very short deep water solo - which Sharma's route is not!)

It's highball bouldering!

Both involve pushing physical limits without a rope.
