To the two pairs of climbers at Pot Scar, Feizor, on Sunday 17th September, my sincere apologies for spoiling your solitude.
As part of my 70th birthday weekend I had promised to take my grandchildren on their first outdoor climb (they were becoming far too climbing-wall-hooked). With perfect weather, close proximity to where we were staying, and a short walk in, Pot Scar seemed the place. What I had not bargained for was the many non-climbing family extras who turned up unexpectedly and who made a lot of noise during their reunions.
The final embarrassment was the singing of Happy Birthday Grandpa as I climbed up to dismantle the belay for the last time.
So, sorry if we took anything away from your day, but wasn't the weather perfect? Hope you enjoyed the rest of your routes after we left!
