Hi,

I`m headed to Costa Blanca in November and am after topos/information for some of the crags not in the Rockfax (Vallada, Rincon Bella, Cocentaina), any idea on where I can buy a local topo or a link to any information online would be great.

Vallada guide can be bought from the cafe at the base of the crag. Cocentaina is available online, or I can send you it via email. I've not seen a topo for Rincon, climbed there last week and there are maybe 10 new lines and some of the older projects seem to have been completed.

Thanks, if you could email me the Cocentaina topo that would be much appreciated! I`'ll pm you my email.

Cocetaina and various others here

We did try a place up behind Alcoy that is in this website but it was poor. Cocetaina looks way better. Try this guide for Vallada and a whole lot more but get a big baggage allowance as it is hefty???? https://www.needlesports.com/52008/products/climbing-guide-to-lestret-de-le...
And, sorry, no beta on Rincon, hard to find as well though not impossible. We used the only info we could find in UKC which was ok but took a while to work out as there were fewer routes on the left than listed. Sounds like it will be even more confusing now.

MTL that Cocentina link is much better than the ones I have, routes are really close together so finding the starts might be tricky from them. There's usually a bird ban (bolts removed) but think that's in the spring.

Cheers, that online topo looks great! Some of the other places on that website look good too. And thanks for the needlesports link, will get that ordered before I go.

Vallada is well worth a visit - there's a bit of beta and a couple of pics on this blog post to wet the appetite https://rockaroundtheworld.co.uk/2017/02/22/vallada/

Plenty of info on other "off the beaten track" venues in the area elsewhere on the blog https://rockaroundtheworld.co.uk/category/spain/valencia-costa-blanca/

In terms of the best source of information for crags in Spain, I'd highly recommend Donde Escalar which has details of over a thousand crags and "get you started" topos for sectors of a few dozen of the best. We've only been to about a hundred and fifty of these so far (see blog) so plenty more to go at! There really is no excuse for adding to the polish at Sella when there's so much more to explore!

Cheers, Dom
