I've read that you can dial 999/112 in the UK and asked to be put through to the emergancy services in any country. Is that right?

If not, how does your emergancy contact inform mountain rescue if you don't checkin by certain o'clock?

I've seen local numbers for certain areas of France/Italy but not for the west Pyrenees.

The BMC have a 'International Emergency Telephone Numbers' PDF which has a link to 'Regional mountain rescue contact infomation' but that link's now broken.

In reply to Pqhf5kd:

For the Pyrénées the phone numbers for the PGHM are listed at: https://www.pyrenees-pireneus.com/Montagne/Secours/Tel_de_secours_Pyrenees....

For the "west" it's either the Pyrénées-Atlantiques or Hautes-Pyrénées depending on exactly where.
