Hi all,

Is the Olta (free) camp ground still open these days ?
Any experiences welcome.

Never been there, but google maps shows a campsite at http://www.google.co.uk/maps/@38.6584067,0.026315,157a,35y,291.67h/data=!3m... and the map is labelled "2017 imagery". Looks empty but not obviously closed. Streetview shows some signs for it near the train station.

I stayed there (again) for 10 days a few weeks ago. Love it. Beautiful place. Toilets open, fresh water and sinks, and the place cleaned every two days. Not that it needed it. We were the only ones there. Wouldn't leave a tent up throughout the day, if that is what you are after. But for just an overnight camp/bivvy spot, it is awesome.

Thanks all we stayed here and it worked out fine, my mate had an attack of conscience and tried to pay at the town hall as per the instrctions on the wall. He turend on his heel once he saw the 30 people queing for 3 clerks in the public office of the Council.

I asked one of the cleaning guys about payment and he said it was gratuit this time of year. But good on you for attempting to pay something
