I am looking for a venue for party next summer in central Manchester, ideally, but not essentially in the Northern Quarter. Probably around 100 people, maybe slightly more.

Large private room or whole venue hire, ideally somewhere with a bit of character.

Licenced is essential, real ale would be a bonus.

It is a family and friends type do, so needs to be moderately child friendly and whilst I have a reasonable budget, it's not some corporate blowout.

Any ideas?

Think soup kitchen have a room they hire out. Been a while but it's not huge so might suit. Defo got real ale and they do a mean goat curry

I went to a wedding recently at the King's Arms, Salford. Good pub, good beer.

Thanks both, I'll check out the Soup Kitchen tomorrow and whilst the King's Arm may be a little far out, it's somewhere I've been meaning to visit for a while, so will have a look.
