I plan on taking my two young children up this tomorrow but have a couple of questions:

1. Can you park on the summit of the A635? I have a 25 year old OS map that has a parking sign so am assuming this is still the case.

2. Are there any bog trotting sections or is it a paved path all the way to the top?

Thanks

Small amount of parking at the top and it is now paved all the way up, have a good day.

Summit? If you mean the footpath from 051063 at 492m parking on Friday should be ok. This route to Black Hill unless its changed very recently has some sections that can be quite boggy (near the start). If your children are young then the route from Wessenden Head is easy and suitable for very young children. Plenty of parking on the A635 and just down the road leading to West Nab/Meltham. There are 2 rivers to cross initially but not normally a problem. The path starts about 100 m west of the junction.
