HI

I am looking for suggestions for guidebooks and maps in and around the Mont Blanc Region (Chamonix approach). I am aware of the "5 routes to the summit" book, but what else is there that people use. Also what maps do people use on trips.

Im not planning anything specific at the moment just doing some research.

Thanks
Alistair

In reply to Alistair:
I used the waterproof 1:25000 French IGN maps 3531ETR and 3630OTR for most things and Kompass Mont Blanc which is 1:50000 and covers the whole area as a back up (also waterproof).

I think the mont blanc 100 finest one is the best guidebook ever! All sorts of climbing from easy to extremely hard with everything in between.

also camptocamp.org and chamonixtopo.com have detailed route descriptions on a broad scale of routes!
