Hello All, your help/advice would be greatly appreciated please!

This flared up for me about 3 years ago, actually on a 12 hour day in the Cuillin with a big pack, was the first instance I can recall pain.

I have had an MRI scan and it has confirmed the pain is originating from a discoid meniscus in my left knee. I am 30, which is quite late for this condition to surface. My symptoms are relatively minor, just sharp pain during running (I have now stopped because its just too painful). I have never experienced popping or the joint feeling like it would give way.

I have the option of surgery but am reluctant, I don't like general anaesthetic or the idea of having an operation, with the associated risks.

Has anyone else had this problem and what did you do? Are there any exercises or other treatments that I can consider?

Thank you
Michael
