I've never heard of anyone doing 20 before:

Jongwon Chon:

Blimey. A quick google doesn't reveal a whole lot, notably I can't seem to find a world record but there is a guy on youtube claiming the world record with 15, he's one of those public park chin-up bar muscle guys though.

I'd guess Magnus Midtbo would be a contender, he recently did 7 or 8 one FINGER pull ups on a sling. Aside from that, any of the superlight comp guys like Rustam Gelmanov, or maybe one of the Japanese team? Although they don't seem to go for showy displays of power as far as I can tell.

A Polish climber on an Exchange visit in 1980 did 11. That was after Brian Sprunt challenged him to a competition, because he (Brian) could do one. Hilarious. But that was casually, so 20 probably isn't that special.

Funny technique, hardly strict as has massive body swing. Impressive for sure, but have you seen kipping pull-ups, that's the one armed equivalent. It enables you to do loads more than strict ones.

Over 100 'pull-ups' here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jp7-5gbtfOY

I didn't think his body swing was particularly bad actually though it would certainly be harder if he stopped at the bottom of each rep.

Here's some other high rep attempts. I think Jongwon's are pretty good by comparison.

I have seen kipping pull ups, something cross fitters do quite a lot, and I think they use far more momentum and technique than Jongwon Chon is using here. They almost don't look like a pull up at all sometimes.

Paul Higginson could do over ten one armers and one arm campus moves etc.

I didn't know he could do that many though it doesn't entirely surprise me. I think 10 is pretty rare. I know Frankenjura boulderer/climber Wolfgang 'Flipper' Fietz said he could do 10 'dynamic' one armers and that's the most I've heard of any climber. Doing double that seems like it's pretty exceptional.

I think it's more likely that he pulled the bar down to him ten times...

Best ask Chris Gibb who could knock out 20 or so
