Etrex 10 - Locking the Joystick?

My Extrex 10 has a habit of accidentally creating sometimes hundreds of waypoints in my pocket or whilst hanging from my jacket. Is there a way to lock the joystick? Google doesn't seem to think so, but maybe I missed something? Help appreciated

Realise it's not for the etrex 10 but perhaps the UI is similar enough for it to still be applicable?

It's definitely helpful, I've never really played with the pages feature which is kind of cool - like a one click shortcut to your most used features. It would be nice to have the map on the screen so I don't have to keep clicking back to view the map but it's a step in the right direction

My Garmin used to do this. I stuck a little ring of Sugru around it to protect the joystick whilst still leaving space to use it. Works a treat.
