Xmas coming up innit...

Looking for some merino/merino blend socks for normal daily wear. Mid height, mid thickness, dark plain colour. Ideally a multipack for a not exorbitant price.

Any suggestions?

sure I have some from M&S bought a year or two ago, 2, maybe 3 pairs in a pack. Comfortable, wash well & would buy more if they hadn't shut all the Paris shops which sold clothes.

I really like the 'North Ridge' 4-Season merino socks that they sell in 'Go'.

I wear them for work and, well, pretty much everything actually. Pricey but not expensive by fancy merino socks standards, hardwearing and comfy. They're also remarkably resistant to becoming stinky when you've been wearing them a while.

They were all black, then they stopped stocking them for a while, now it seems they're all blue.

Thanks, although they look a little bit more like boot mountain socks, more after a casual/approach shoe kinda thing.

Teko do a number of merino casual socks as well as activity socks https://www.tekoforlife.co.uk

I use these ones for everyday

Yes, you're right, they probably are a bit OTT now you mention it. My toes are excessively prone to freezing up.
The 3-season ones are nice too.

They thick enough for daily use, they look like liners?

I think these are brilliant - my default sock for cycling and running all year round.

Costco do 4 packs for about £12. Greyish colour.

oops - completely ignored the part about multi pack and a not exorbitant price. Ignore all that; Possum wool will make your life better (or mohair from the same site- but i find them a bit warm)

Keep an eye out in TKMaxx , I keep getting so lucky with HH branded socks from my local .

They are a 40% blend and cost 7 euro's for two pairs!!!! My local outdoor shop sells a similar sock at 20 euro's for one pair!

I feel like the fact my TK maxx is in a small town helps my chances as any time I go to one in a bigger city they are always gutted out of the good quality stuff .

I wear plain black smartwool socks almost exclusively. You can buy them from various suppliers in the us often with up to 40% off. They're thicker than traditional 'dress' socks, but I much prefer them.
