F*cking utterly disgusting and with zero merit

A guy was recommending it to me yesterday .

It's adding the dollop of butter that puts me off.

Anyway, he swears by it. A lot

Guy told me that it's virtually part of the Mongolian mountain diet.

It doesn't sound terribly appealing to me ,I admit.

But he says it has changed his life.

I'm not surprised. Probably along the lines of "f*ck me, that's disgusting..."

I smell large amounts of horseshit.

I have some Yorkshire grass-fed snake-oil to put in your tea to enhance neuronal firing. Only £50 for 100ml.

Good call. The whole bulletproof coffee thing is cobblers.

ignore the branding.

Stick a tablespoon of butter and a tablespoon of mct (or failing that coconut) oil in black coffee in the morning and you are ready to go.

You put it all in and then add the boiling water. Not put it in on top.

Then exercise/get on with your day. I do all my morning swimming and 2hr+ runs and 2hr+ bike rides on it. Works a treat.

I was very disappointed, a 5.56mm went through it like a hot knife through (unsalted) butter.

No doubt all the fat is decent energy for excersize but coconut oil in coffee is grim in the extreme. I'd rather have the coffee then eat a tablespoon of coconut oil on its own. Which is weird but not really that grim. I refuse to even entertain trying butter in coffee. And I love butter. I'm fairly sure the list of things it doesn't go with is shorter than most but coffee is surely on it.

Stick a tablespoon of syrup of figs in it and you'll be really ready to go

The keto diet which bulletproof coffee is part of is far from cobblers. Used as part of that its mighty effective though you don't need to buy all the branded bulletproof stuff.

On top of a carb rich diet it's just going to make you less healthy.

And if you do try it for gods sake blend it up or it will indeed make you hurl.

MCT is medium chain triglyceride oil, essentially coconut oil refined down to some degree of pureness.

In reply to andymac:

Yep although prob a variation on the "proper" one. Pretty good but don't have it regularly although it is filling. I add an egg, vanilla essence and a bit of cocao to the coconut oil/butter for a liquid breakfast. Must be blended else it's disgusting!

I don't know. For all I know, you add whole beans, a tablespoon of rancid yak butter, a tablespoon of pixie gland juice, add boiling water and blend them up.

I have to say, I quite like a little butter in my coffee. I tried coconut oil, but shit - only a little. It's not bad, but it's ok.

No idea about this bullshit microtoxins piece.

Also I have it with a massive bowl of carbohydrates daily.

How the hell am I supposed to get 3-6k calories per day if I don't eat until lunchtime. I can't gain weight!
