Last year I booked huts for the TMB well in advance when I went late August.

I would hope to go again this year to finish it off but it's possible due to family circumstances that I might only be able to go at two or three weeks(or less!) notice; possibly late July, early August.

Going solo but just wondering what the feasibility is for booking huts/refuges at short notice.(I know this is peak holiday period)

Any useful comments welcomed

Think you should be ok, just stagger the stages by staying at midway refugees, I always find some these are great value and more friendly then the large refugees.

Thanks. I presume you're talking of the likes of Rif Bertone and Alp Bovine etc.

Stayed at Bertone last year. Very nice and friendly. Had lunch at Bovine; equally commendable

Refuge Du Fioux, Refuge de Nant Borrant and Rifugio Maison Vieille are very good mid stage accommodation stop offs and will try to get you in even on the day.
