Hello all,

Petzl have released a new one finger trigrest (U016AA00) which would appear to replace the older two finger trigrest (U19 TRI).

Can anyone confirm if the new trigrest can be used on the old quarks? The lower, moveable, trigger is a pain to get gloved fingers in and out of!

Best,

S

Not according to Petzl it would seem? They state:

  • "Compatible with RIDE, GLACIER, GLACIER LITERIDE, SUMMIT, SUM'TEC and GULLY axes"

Not 100% sure, but measure the size of the tube. If it's 30mm x 20mm or near enough it will fit but may not move up and down easily. If less than that you may need to pad it out with a bit of old inner tube.

Thank you both, I've still not had a response from Petzl.

My main concern is the ridged parts at the top of the quark grip that the existing trigrest sits in. I've not seen the old style trigrest on any other axes.

I'll try and get into a store with them. Or it may well be an excuse for pulling the trigger on a pair of nomics...

New nomics out this summer, plus the ergo-nomic.  Might be worth waiting.

Just seen the ergonomics - an interesting option for really steep stuff. Though I'm also liking the new nomic bottom spike... this could be expensive...
