We're heading out to Chamonix later in the month for 5 days skiing, looks like a good snow year so looking forward to it.

Suspect we wont arrive until 12pm on the first day so I'd like to get out for a decent trail run for 3-4 hrs.

I'm familiar with the valley in summer but not sure what is going to be possible running wise in the winter. Ideally I'd like to get some good height gain.

Could anyone that's out there at the moment or that has previous experience point me in the direction of a nice route?

Are the hiking trails up to Montenvers and Plan e l'Aiguille generally covered at this time of year?

We have all the necessary kit including running crampons so not afraid to get out in the snow.

Thanks
