I have a pair of Scarpa Charmoz about 8 years old. Very happy with them, and they are perfect for my mountain requirements these days, apart from them not being very warm in winter.
As my winter excursions are mainly hillwalking/ridges with the odd plod up a grade II gully, and probably no more than five or six times a year, I don't really want to splash out on a pair of B3's.
So I'm wondering whether adding a good quality insulated insole combined with a pair of insulated Yeti Gaiters might be the solution?
Any opinions or experience with this approach most welcome.
