Got a Rab Microlite Alpine jacket that could do with a freshen up. I've got a bottle of Nkwax down ash direct and a bottle of down proof. Question is how exactly do I use them? The outer and inner of the jacket are a bit dirty and the outer has lost most of its water repellency. Can both of these be used in the same wash or do I wash with one then dry and then wash with the other?
The main thing is drying it properly and reasonably quickly. I think people say put it in a tumble dryer with tennis balls but I don't have either a tumble dryer or tennis balls so I just put mine on the radiator and periodically pulled apart clumps and generally beat it about a bit. Worked fine and I have done it twice now with great results.
