Hi all,

Off to Mallorca next week for a long weekend – mainly want to do some scrambles. At the moment we’ve got Serra Del Cavall Bernat on the list – keen to do the whole thing – I did see a reference to needing a rope if you followed the path right out to the most seaward end of the ridge. Anyone know if this is the case?

We’re confident scrambling on grade 3 terrain – we used a rope on a bit of El Realat / Castellets Ridge for context (if it’s as bad as the sketchy bit on that then a rope a few confidence cams might be needed).

Also keen to have a go at the torrent de pareis, though the circone guidebook says only in dry conditions. Anyone know what it’s like in Mallorca at the moment?

Any other worthwhile scrambles to do? or easy multipitch (up to 5+ if sport or hard severe if trad)?

Also looking for a route where we can bivy out for a night – any suggestions?

puig massansla is a nice walk with a short scramble to the top.

torrent de pareis is mega polished

In case anyone else comes across this thread in the future, for reference you can do the whole of the Serra Dek Cavall ridge without a rope. There is one bit that we skirted round where it looked like a proper rock climb, but you only need to drop down 30 feet or so to find some bits you can traverse easily. Probably grade 3 scramble the route we did (sticking to the top of the ridge all the way).

When we did it there was an abseil, memory is slightly hazy but it would have been a pain to climb down. Obviously we took a rope so didn't search for alternatives. On the one bit of ridge which has climbing, whilst it is easy, you wouldn't want to fall, and it is pretty polished.
