Hey guysss.

Quick advice if possible. Doing some trekking over the weekend, scrambles in Snowdonia. Tomorrow we are just planning some easy practice with ropes, harnesses, bolts. Any rocks where it is easy to practice? Not looking for any actual trad climbs, just ideal rocks to spend time to practice with options? We are competent, but new to area.

Cheers

Capel Curig Pinnacles; Little Tryfan. Both provide everything you need for practicing basic rockclimbing belaying techniques. The first is probably a better place to teach serious belay techniques, the second better for general rope-work, multi-pitch procedures (i.e real climbing and doing it safely).

But you're talking about scrambling, yet needing to 'practice', even though you say you are competent, which is very odd. The only way you can practice scrambling is by scrambling, and for that you don't need any ropes or harnesses at all.

Thanks Gordon. Little Tryfan sounds perfect. Sorry mixed them up. Competent at scrambling, done various routes without and with ropes. Done trad climbing too, but want to practice more.

Don't expect to find any 'bolts'.  They're rarely used in trad climbing in the UK - to all intents and purposes,  hand-placed gear only on trad climbs in the UK.
