Wild camping in the Peak district

Me and a group of mates are looking to go camping in the peak district during summer, being a group of males, we want space to play football and make a fire without bothering other people at a campsite.

Can anybody recommend somewhere which will offer the feel of wild camping without the illegality?

Whether it's a land owner that allows camping or a campsite which has a lot of space.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Troll yeah ?

If not please don’t wild camp, find a campsite, a lot of them allow campfires, then go find a field for football, have fun.

To the op: rowter farm by mam tor is a nice campsite with a wild ish feel. Not sure they allow fires though.

In a similar vein, the bottom field of whitmore lea farm. Very close to the railway line though which makes it feel less "wild"

www.ukcampsite.co.uk allows you to filter your search for sites that allow campfires

Can't remember the name at moment but there is a campsite on the road from Bakewell to monyash ( hardhurst farm?) That has plenty of space for football etc , overlooks lathkill dale

There's a camping field behind the Robin Hood pub on the Baslow / Chesterfield road. It's pretty remote, don't think there's any facilities, I think the farmer just charges a nominal amount for camping there.

There's plenty of space for football etc and it's a great area for climbing, boldering, hiking, etc.

It's the Eric Byne memorial campsite. Lovely site. Toilets but no showers and about 15 minute walk from the car (and pub). Great bouldering 30 seconds away, and Birchen & Gardoms are only 5-10 minutes away. Defo no fires though.
