Snow bollard abseil

Hi all, may be a silly question but:

I’m familiar with using a snow bollard and can set one up correctly. I’ve only done this with a single rope, using it to descend. If using two ropes, tied together, where does the knot sit in relation to the bollard? Is this possible or will it be difficult to retrieve the rope and/or will the knot damage the bollard integrity?

Whenever Abbing on two ropes tied together it’s usual to position the knot below the ab point. This prevents the knot getting stuck on the ab point. Obviously you need to make sure you know which rope to pull ie before before you commit to ab note “pull red “ (or blue or whatever).
