A quick question about climbing shoes..  I have fairly wide feet and big toes that turn up at the end.  This means that I find most shoes to be overly uncomfortable as they press painfully on to the nails of my big toes.  Any shoe recommendations or ideas to make them more comfortable?

i had a similar problem after i broke a toe and for a while after my normal shoes were really painful. just clip the toenails down as much as possible and wear comfy climbing shoes. for me i got a pair of super comfy scarpa helix shoes but had to try a few on to get a good fit.

I'm guessing your big toe is not bent when trying them on. If so maybe get a tighter fit so you are forced to retract your big toe a bit. I think some Boreal boots are designed to accommodate this, though that's not necessary.

Obviously keep your toenails tightly trimmed.

There are lots of wider boots around so I suppose you just have to try them on and see what fits best. Though it's never an easy process and boots inevitably stretch and get bendier when broken in.
