Has anyone climbed the Via Ferrata on the Ponoch recently, in Costa Blanca.

Is a 70m rope required for the final abseil, or will I be able to get away with a 60?

Thanks.

Did it at Xmas. Bit dull to be honest - just a big ladder really.

We used two 60m doubles to do the ab in one at the end . Didnt have much margin on that - few meters maybe. I seem to recall the second ab is longer than the first. If not taking doubles I'd take a 70.

1st def good on single 50m rope (25m). 2nd says 30m, but 1 had 2x50m so can't be absolutely sure.

If you have double ropes and a few slings, maybe a few nuts and/or one small cam, you can also do the top scramble to the summit which is an awesome place. (Big abseil off that to rejoin orig descent). Easy but exposed.

Hi there, we changed the wire last july and we review the abseils.

I always use a 60m rope. The first one is 25 and the second, close to 30.

If I need to finish early or there are more climbers, the best option is to abseil with 2x60, direct to the bottom of the wall. (But you need to carry an extra rope).

Enjoy the ferrata.
