Coming to a uni near you? Wonder if their Gun Club is being disbanded too?

A bewildering decision 

Not that bewildering. The uni doesn't want to be responsible for what could occur during say a climbing event led by an unqualified student, who is probably only in that roll as they are a 3rd or 4th year student. 

What is there to stop the students meeting up under their own steam, like non uni climbing clubs or friends.

Logic understood. But to me it is still a heavy-handed move; the said uni could have introduced plenty of checks and balances to protect themselves, if that’s the real concern

Got to love the quote from the members of the outdoor club that they  'are not going anywhere'.
