Are the midges biting yet?

I'm planning on going out to Eastern Grit on Monday evening, but the wind is meant to be minimal. If they are out, it will be horrible. Has anyone been got yet?

You'll be fine, it's still a bit early for them, and even if you get a few they won't be the same voracious kind you can expect later in the year.

Thanks Rob,

I seem to have really attractive blood (or really reactive skin)

There’s the odd one about, and a few if you end up descending any damp heathery corners but they’re not biting yet!

When they smell me they might start to get hungry

Some at Raven's Scar tonight.

Let's face it: roaches must be pretty intimating to midges!
