Dear All,

I’m looking for a guide for 3-4 days in July.

I’ll be staying in Vallouise and looking to get on some Rock and/sub-alpine. Fancying something on Tete d’Aval, Brison, Cerces area, and maybe some Granite.

I know the area well, just want to get on something harder and more challenging (we’re usually having a beer after 8pitches of 5+ slab by 4pm, not that I’m complaining).

Any recommendations or approaches would be massively appreciated. Excuse me if I don’t respond immediately, I’ll be logging back on tomorrow or over the weekend.

Thanks in advance

Dave

You could try Thomas Vialletet  http://www.thomasvialletet.com/  He's based in Briancon, speaks good English (I worked with him in NZ) and is a great guy.  If he's busy for those dates he may well know someone who isn't.

Local guy called Lionel Pavillet is a great guy  - he used to be a guide in Cham. He also runs a hotel in the park.

Hi Andy

Thanks for the recommendation.

Hi Dave there is some great climbing on the Tete d'aval, Tenailles and in the Cerces (the Cerces is one of my favourite paces to climb). I am really busy in July but would give recommendations for Murray got a lot of time for Murray. if he isn't available I would also really recommend Mathieu Carlhian, Mathieu is the head guide at the Ailefroides guide office he is half English Half french so perfect English and a nice guy. Also Clément Mounier top guy, very good climber and fun to spend a time with climbing, and lastly Yann Estienne another great guide, both Clément and Yann speak very good English to.

feel free to get in touch to chat about route's or I am happy to hook you up with one of the guides I recommended.

Also as i cant miss a plug below are some links to a free via ferrata guide app I have made, just incase you fancy a day off from climbing.
