Hey guys,

I'm currently working towards my Sumer Mountain Leader award and wanted to know if anyone can recommend a first aid course that would suit the dynamics of the award. I need to have this under my belt before booking the training.

Unfortunately Mountain Training doesn't recommend any themselves.

Don't need to have a first aid ticket until assessment.

Whoever you do your training with will no doubt have a few recommendations

Ahh I see, thanks for clearing that up. It had been my understanding that I needed first aid training before booking the training.

The requirement is 16 hours (2 days) and contain an element of assessment. It is recommended that it contains some "outdoors" but that is not an actual requirement (though bloody boring if stuck inside for 2 days)

I would hesitate to listen to recommendations of any one organisation as in the end it all comes down to the ability and experience of the trainer. I would suggest you should be more interested in recommendations of individuals trainers.
