The second part of the history of climbing at Stoney Middleton by Geoff Birtles is now online at http://smhccg.org/rock-climbing/  Essentially this covers the 1970s when Tom Proctor dominated the Dale with historic new routes such as Our Father.

Wow, this really took me back! I had that copy of Crags with TP on Menopause on the cover for years, got lost in a move. And Sin was my first attempted VS lead on limestone; I fell off it after the crux and was well stopped by my mate and the first hex I'd ever personally owned.

A great read, thanks for posting!

Looks really interesting - even for a soft southerner. I look forward to reading it.
