Whilst scrabbling about on some soggy Gneiss slabs in the far North the other day I made the exciting discovery that the white powdery stuff covering my Jelly Babies works just like chalk - first you eat some, then rub hands together, then bolstered with confidence make the move and repeat......most pleasing thing about this is I will now be able to attempt all those punterish sub E6 routes that no self-respecting real climber would dream of using chalk on and the crag police will be none the wiser!
