Whilst I'm not in any way saying that people shouldn't climb or swim in the quarry (it is a really great and creepy place; we were swimming there just a week or so ago and would definitely recommend it) someone died there just overĀ a month ago after jumping from a reckless height and (presumably) succumbing to water temperature. It is an incredible place, filled with car wrecks and tunnels for divers to explore. Seems like an awesome place to DWS (and lead) but care is advised.

Good stuff! I like Neil's writing and general approach to climbing.
