Is there much/any easy reliable ice climbing within a few hours drive of Bergen. I might be there mid January with work and wouldn't mind tagging 2 or 3 days ice climbing on to the trip. I've had a brief look round the Internet but details are scarce. Rjukan and stuff further north are a bit too far a drive (5-6 hours according to Google maps but assume slower in the snow?) . Any knowledge or advice would be great! 

In reply to dunnyg: yes, massive amounts but most of it will be undescribed.  Are you going to solo or find a guide? Voss, Roldal have a bit of information online.

Have you taken an avalanche course?

I was hoping to find someone local or on the same trip to head out with, I think a guided trip might be beyond budget but I'll have a look. I've not done a course, but did a few months in Canada and went to a few Canadian alpine club talks etc. on it, and tend to just be overly cautious if the conditions are in anyway suspect. Im also not a skier which may limit options somewhat?
