Which one would you visit for a couple of hours for some roped climbing?

Is Beacon worth £3 extra entry for a one off session?

Cheers

Beacon has to be better for roped stuff...

I've only recently discovered Indy and love it, but Beacon is probably better for roped climbing.

So, anything with ropes Beacon has better walls. Indy has some decent routes but they're short and not many of them. Indy is by far the better bouldering gym and place to be in general. If you really want a day on ropes and can cope with the scowls then it's worth the £3.

But I'm very much an Indy guy and it's my second home so take that into consideration when I dish out my opinion, I'm also a boulderer, so don't really care much about the routes...

Also worth noting they're having a refurb right now so are closed Monday and Tuesday I believe.

Oye! We try not scowl here at Beacon, even on bad days

Beacon is much taller so we’ll vote for ourselves for roped climbing, even if it is considered a very unobjective vote! Each wall has its merits, and we’re definitely not adverse to a trip to Indy for some excellent bouldering either. Variety is good and it’s why we love climbing in North Wales.
