There is climbing life after double knee replacement surgery. Went to Westway today and top-roped three 3's and took in partner's rope and lowered her off three climbs. Surgery on September 14 with return to climbing on October 21. Yippee!!!!!!

In reply to Chris_Mellor:

Yippee indeed! I doubt if it's what the surgeon had in mind, but we climbers are an ornery bunch, and ignore the expected stepping stones to recovery. I had my hip replacement at the end of last November, and first went to the wall 7 weeks later - I said I'd only toprope but actually led 6a. The thing is though (and I had a fairly fast bike ride today) that when I feel a bit hip-achy, as I do now, I worry that I've overdone things (even though achy is normal enough) - until the next time that is!

Keep up the good work!
