Available on the BBC I player for the next few weeks. Well worth a view despite its a bit too heavy on dramatic build up and too light on the useful science.

'Light on science' was my impression as well.  There was no explanation of how data would be used to calibrate the prediction software (presumably based on computational fluid dynamics). The presenter seemed to imply that this one experiment was all that was needed.  I'm sure she knows it's just a small step along the way.

Entertainment masquerading as science...

In reply to Dave Cundy:

A bit unfair...I'm sure the researchers were genuine and there was lots of stuff I'd not seen before, like the moving heat maps and the pulse formations (albeit I had heard of them). It was almost worth watching on silent for the mountain scenery.

I think Horizon suffers from a lack of courage in the production management that would not be there for an 'arts' production: the two cultures live on.
