Hi

Does anybody know of a good campsite that allows fires (in a metal firepit as opposed to just on the ground) close to climbing venues of Penzanze or North Devon?

Alternatively any tips to wild camp with van parking that will allow the same.

No idea but i actively avoid campsites that DO allow fires, they are just a nuisance, they stink, ash goes everywhere and embers damage tents

The campsite at Lizard Point (Henry's?) Does. Think your biggest problem will be finding a site that is open at this time of year. Most of them seem to close in the winter, so finding that subset of open ANDallows fires might be tricky.

I can see the point about fires, but i think its how the site is managed rather than fires per se. Pretty much every site permits disposable barbecues and they are a menace. 

I mostly look for fire friendly sites because i use a woodburner in a tentipi

Noongallas campsite, Gulval (couple of miles from downtown Penzance) might be of interest
