Thankyou to everyone that attended our protest day last Saturday and to Sir Chris Bonington for his time and support.

It was a good turn out with over 100 people attending young and old, 3yrs - 84yrs!

We had some good coverage in the press and on TV so hopefully now Carlisle Council can see what a grand opportunity it will be to build a new wall for the City.

Carlisle being the City of Cumbria, The birthplace of British Rock Climbing.

We still need your support so please if you haven't done so sign our petition.

Many Thanks

In reply to Stephen Reid - Needle Sports:

Thank you Stephen for posting it up and for signing.

Its sad that the Carlisle council are ignorant of our local history and community.

Climbing is a much bigger picture than just climbing up bits of rock (or plastic), a much bigger picture indeed!

Many thanks

Pete

Sorry we couldn’t make it (I had to work).  Amazing how good the wall looked in the pictureswhen not hidden behind the curtains.

It’s the sands centres biggest secret.  The guy from GLL tried to say the numbers didn’t add up but how could they if it’s not advertised.  Lily is pretty serious about her climbing, even we didn’t know about it until last few years.

in conjunction with the sheep mount being out of commission for years, the swifts and now stoneyholme golf courses closed and now the joke that is £19m being spent on a flood plain to REDUCE access to sporting facilities (unless you are a 20-50 yr person who likes to jump around to loud music), I believe Cumbria county council need investigated.  I can’t think of any other city with such disregard for its future generations.  Kids in Carlisle basically have a choice of Xbox and running these days.

Bravo to to the new kids.
