Hello,

I'm heading bouldering (with my partner Dr Toph on UKC) next week in Stanage Edge or Burbage area and looking for any recommendations for some great 6a - 7as to try please? Especially as a person on the smaller size, if anyone has any recommendations it would be great to hear them!

Thanks so much!

Emily

You’ll be pretty much spoilt for choice! Can’t offer any shorty recommendations as I’m a bit lanky, but ticklists like this https://www.ukclimbing.com/logbook/set.php?sort=c&id=2030 and this https://www.ukclimbing.com/logbook/set.php?id=2790 (sort by crag) would provide some starters in the grades you’re looking at. Have fun!

Do you like normal boulders, traverses, highballs, or bumscrapers? Does a moody landing put you off, or do you approach bouldering with a pile of pads and an army of spotters? Do you want an easy life with lots of choice near the car, or would you put in more bit of effort for more memorable experiences? Do you like to climb an actual line, or will 3 "sick moves" and then jump off at the break do?

Breakfast (f7A) thought was good. But would second the other opinions re ticklists.

Avoid stanage and burbage.

Go to Robin hood stride and cratcliff. Best bouldering in the peak and good range of grades.

I'm a big fan of Cratcliffe and RHS, but equally there are some amazing problems at Stanage and Burbage. The best venue will be determined by the weather at this time of year. To the OP: this is a useful resource, you can filter by venue and grade and style: http://peakbouldering.info/

Isn't it going to be wet all weekend? Assuming your talking about 1st/2nd? I was thinking about going too but all reports are saying its looking quite wet across the entire country.

Thanks everyone! Will look at the tick lists and have a go at Breakfast. Weather looks nice ish actually luckily, bit sunny tomorrow, bit cloudy at weekend with some showers but not a total blow out. Fingers crossed anyway!

Thanks!

The egg at cratcliff. Scene of much humour! There are others, but this has to be a first visit have a go.

In reply to Kevster:

Dont talk about the egg. I get angry.

In reply to Kevster:

I don’t say this lightly having had my egg schooling right of passsage, but the OP will be fine on the egg. She’s  got serious movement skills.

I'm interested in how it goes. Went. It's all fun, even if you've got the moves. Lol.
