Do any other animals share their ENTIRE(*) name with a country?

 

 

* so guinea-pig and guinea-fowl don’t count, for example

The French word for turkey is dinde. The etymology is that the bird originated d'Inde - from the (West) Indies.

Only if chihuahua gains independence

Edit: I'm sure I've heard talk of a Chile dog.

I'm afraid not. Portuguese for shrimp is camarão. Spanish is closer with camarón. oo doesn't exist in portuguese or spanish.
