I know from past experience of you posting similar threads at this time of year that you don't like 'Fairytale of New York'.
So here goes:

Bad man.

Just chilin in the work's van listening to Dave Koz and Friends Christmas album. It's my little Oasis of calm on a night of the usual weekend in Blackpool.

Insomnia.

Doesn't matter I can nap tomorrow if I need to. Been awake since 4am.  It's just one of those things.

Christmas Wrapping-The Waitresses. I could listen to this on repeat for the whole of December. Its cheesy as f**k but I love it.

I've always loved this, and also the fact that Britten composed it during a transatlantic ship voyage. By pure coincidence, we sang it at an amateur choir concert in Baslow in 1976 and heard the news  just before that Britten had died that day. Was hard to sing that evening.

Some disappointed responses so far. Let me cheer you up with this alternative take on a classic:

Halsway Carol is an interesting composition in that it has attracted people posting versions on all sorts of devices and it's quite catchy. Its composer sounds interesting : he seems to be working as a cabinet maker or similar now but has recorded and performed with Plant and Page ( hurdy gurdy, naturally, the instrument the carol was designed for I suspect).

And being a secular carol, it might pass the UKC litmus test.

Many years ago the shop I was working in played Christmas music including Dolly Partons Christmas classics, two of my hates are country music and christmas songs the combination nearly gave me toothache. It was my job to lock up and so I sabotaged the cassette just a little nick on the tape with scissors. The following it was turned on and destroyed the tape and player, happiness!

Brilliant - I mark the start of Christmas by my first hearing of this tune on the radio - to date I am still waiting for the Waitresses.

On a different note Must be Santa by Bob Dylan rarely gets a play but I love it.

That in my expert opinion, is worse that Fairy-tail of New York.
